Red Zephyr started back in our high school days when Sid (saxophone), and Kyle & Ethan (percussionists) were in the South Doyle High School Marching & Concert Bands together.

Kyle (who was also a bassist) had formerly played with Taylor (guitar) in two different rock bands together, during the beginning of high school, and things lined up to where we had to play a last minute show: with no lineup in mind yet, besides Kyle and Taylor.

So Kyle asked Ethan and Sid to play with them, with 4 days notice: a complete improvised instrumental 20-minute set at Long-Branch Saloon, and we’ve been writing music, releasing singles, ep’s, albums; and performing live since 2013 as the same 4 humans it started with. Occasionally adding vocals to a song here and there but usually instrumental songs with sax and guitar lead soloing, and, in a way singing with their instruments, over a honed in, bass and drumset rhythm section.

Our unique music can sometimes be defined as hybrid rock with a unique combination of heavy rock riffs fused with elements of blues, progressive rock, acid/psychedelic rock, improvisation, and a dab of jazz, not to mention whatever else we happened to be feeling when the 4 of us came together to blend together our different emotions and interests in music per song and time period in life. Each song can be lumped into a different category or genre than the song before or after it, so you never know what to expect putting on a Red Zephyr song.

But as always we love you: our fans, and appreciate all you do for us as far as inspiration, support, and hope you get enjoyment from our music and just that alone means the world to us! Our love for music is how Red Zephyrs are made! Thank you-Red Zephyr (:
